Relax and Chill out - Romantic Break
Enjoy a wonderful holiday break in our lovely Garden Lodge. Close to Upton upon Severn, Malvern, Tewkesbury and Pershore. Upgraded and refurbished for our family and friends, the Lodge is also available for you and your family and friends as self catering holiday accommodation
Nestled between the Cotswolds and the Malvern Hills, it is in the perfect position for either a Cotswolds holiday or a Malvern holiday.
The Lodge, set in our own grounds, is completely modernised and refurbished
It contains a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, bathroom (bath with shower fitting, WC, handbasin) and a small kitchen (electric hob, electric oven, washer, fridge/freezer, microwave)
The lounge contains a double settee and a double sofa bed (so if you're all friendly, 6 can holiday here). Also a cd player and dvd player*
The lounge opens onto the terrace through double french doors and is the heart of the Lodge.
We welcome pets. The dog friendly lounge/terrace arrangement will suit both you and your pal. Just open the french doors and you are both out in the fresh air and sunshine.
The front terrace looks out onto the garden and then over Smithmoor Common towards the Cotswolds. Weather allowing, it is a great place to breakfast. Sit out for bacon and eggs in the fresh air, or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. It is quite simply - just lovely. And if a romantic break is what you have in mind, this is the perfect place for peace and privacy with your partner.
Lounge opens to terrace
Pet friendly lounge
Overlooking some of the most glorious, panoramic, rural views, this is the ultimate holiday for those looking to get away from the rat race. As you sit on the front terrace, or look out from the lounge, you look over the garden area out onto the lovely open Smithmoor Common with Bredon Hill (Cotswolds) in the distance.
Sunrise seen from the Lodge Terrace
|Follow the yellow brick road - well buttercups really....|| Cattle at dawn|
The views are just amazing, especially at dawn - early risers (weather allowing of course) will almost certainly see a glorious sunrise through silver mist over Smithmoor Common. I see it every morning when I let out my chickens, but it still takes my breath away. Take a look at the photos above of the sunrise - I took those in April from the Summerhouse Terrace
If you see another person, other than myself or my partner, it will be unusual. The Garden Lodge is set in the gardens of our own home. However, the Lodge and our own cottage face into different directions and do not overlook each other. We are about half a mile off the main road along a private track. You may see us - or our dogs or chickens - but it is very unlikely that anyone else will disturb your tranquility.
What you are likely to see are buzzards, woodpeckers (or at least hear them) hares, rabbits and foxes. The Common, which you are free to walk around (there can be horses or cattle grazing there too), covers around 80 acres of protected land. It is famous for its birdlife and it's botanical rarities - for those of you interested in such things, I can provide a copy of the rare plant species associated with the Common taken from an official survey a few years ago.
Pet Friendly Holiday Homes
We welcome pets. As dog lovers ourselves, we know that when you come away for a holiday break, you want everyone to come, and that includes your dog. And we know that really pet friendly holiday homes can be hard to find.
The Lodge is a perfect pet friendly holiday home.
A dog friendly cottage needs a few practical features. The Lodge floors, polished timber, are hardwearing and practical. You don't need to worry about the odd hair - it will simply vaccuum up.
We ask only that you please keep your pets off the furniture. Even in a pet friendly holiday cottage, future guests will also want to enjoy clean, fresh-smelling upholstery
And of course, any pet friendly holiday home needs space for walkies......
There is plenty of room for your dog (or dogs - we don't mind) to run around in the garden. If you would like to take them for a walk, you are free to walk over Smithmoor Common - with the usual provisos that there is stock on the Common (horses and cattle) so your dog must be well behaved and under control
We are nestled between the Cotswolds and the Malvern Hills. Look out from the garden out to Bredon Hill of the Cotswolds, or look back from the Common onto the Malvern Hills
We are in the Malvern area of Worcestershire, close to Upton on Severn. Our nearest other small towns are Tewkesbury and Pershore. The nearest cities are Worcester ( 9 miles) and Cheltenham (16 miles)
If you are looking for Malvern or Tewkesbury self catering accommodation, we are handily positioned around 15-20 minutes away.
The M50 is about 10 minutes drive away.
PLEASE NOTE: We are hard to find. Sat Nav are unreliable because we are off the main road. Please PRINT OFF our detailed directions when visitng us
